Additional paperwork for Colorado FSP students
Bring the information associated with your sheriff-issued Firearms Safety Course Eligibility Card. The card number entered during registration helps Andy identify your state record accurately. Basic-course students should also make sure CPW has already verified their qualifying hunter-education credentials.
Check the ammunition requirement before arriving
Ammunition needs can vary by course. Use the quantity and caliber stated in the class description or registration email. If anything is unclear—or you need to discuss equipment—contact Andy before class rather than guessing.
If you are a beginner
You do not need to pretend that you already know everything. Questions are welcome, and safe habits matter more than speed. Let Andy know about your experience level, physical limitations, or equipment concerns before class so the day can be planned appropriately.
Different course types have different requirements. If this general checklist conflicts with the confirmation email for your scheduled class, follow the class-specific email and contact Andy with questions.
This checklist is general preparation guidance. Always follow current law, range rules, and the course-specific instructions provided for your scheduled class.
